Sherry Robin Fechner, age 62 years old, went to be with our Lord on July 3rd, 2014.
She was born January 19th, 1952 in Corpus Christi. Robin, also known as Sissy, Mom, Robin, Aunt Robin, Nona Robin, and Gigglebox Girl, was a nurse for over 30 years. She especially cherished her time as an OB nurse helping to bring thousands of babies into this world. In her free time, she loved to work on projects and crafts. She enjoyed the time she was able to spend creating scrapbooks and was an amazing seamstress. She had a passion and a love for her dogs, also known by those who loved her as her ‘other’ children. For all her family and friends, there was no place like Robin's house. No matter where she lived, her home was always filled with pictures of family and open to those she loved.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Didear Fechner; aunt, Mildred “MeaMaw” Franklin; and uncle, Frank “Tank” Franklin.
She is survived by her son, Stephen (Jennifer) Franklin and grandchildren, Olivia, Ethan, and Emma; brother, Russell (Sandra) Fechner and nieces, Jamie (Brett) Phillips and their children, Cash and Harper, Peggy (Travis) McDavid and their children, Haleigh, Bridy Clair, and Brooks; aunt and best friend, Jenifer (Fred) Hughes; sister in friendship, Jan (Larry) Wolters; sister, Sharlet Fechner; brother, Layne Fechner; sister, Honey Cealene; aunt, Alice Didear and her children, Jimmy, Armi, Peggy, Michelle, and Samantha; son, Jack Pink Franklin, Jr. and family; beloved dog, Tallulah (Tootie) and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends that she loved very much.
A visitation was held at Freund Funeral Home in Cuero, on Sunday, July 6th from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Yorktown, on Monday, July 7th at 10:00 a.m. with Father David Berger officiating. Burial will follow at Westside Cemetery in Yorktown.
Pallbearers include Fred Hughes, Tray Hughes, Phil Hughes, Larry Wolters, Brett Phillips, Travis McDavid, and honorary pallbearer, Joe Kotwig.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michaels Catholic School.
