
Edwin Emil Kuester, 100, of Cuero passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014.
He was born January 12, 1914 in Lindenau to the late Albert Kuester and Annie Dieringer Kuester. Edwin was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cuero and served on the Council. He joined the Cuero Volunteer Fire Department in 1942 and continued his service for 62 years. Edwin married Ipha Rose Kennedy on January 19, 1929 at the First Presbyterian Church in Cuero. He enjoyed working on small engines for over 40 years and loved fishing, hunting, and mowing his yard.
He is survived by sisters, Julia Mae Arndt of Cuero; nieces, Donna Fuchs and Nancy Gottschalt of Cuero, and Brenda Kennedy of Victoria; nephew, Delvin Arndt of Cuero; and numerous others of a loving extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife; and infant brother, Lionel Kuester.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday, July 21, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Brown and Rev. Bill Cotman officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Stanley Fuchs, Roy Alan Kuester, Bruce Brown, Troy Fuchs, Kyle Fuchs, and Randall Fuchs.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cuero Volunteer Fire Department or Accolade Hospice.
