John Arnold “Arnie” Moore

John Arnold “Arnie” Moore, 89, passed away August 16, 2014. 
 
He was born on January 17, 1925, in Yoakum to Willie Triptoe Moore and Myrtle Evans Neely. He married Norma Faye Starr on February 2, 1959. John was a Marine and Purple Heart recipient for being wounded during battle at Iwo Jima. He was a star football player for Cuero High before being inducted into the service at the age of 17. John was a truck driver most of his life for companies like Brown and Root in Texas City, Gulf Coast Wood Products in Cuero, and Harold Cattle Company in Gonzales.
 
He is survived by his sons, John Arnold Moore, Jr., (J.J.) of Victoria, Brett Smith of Lindenau, and Roy Arnold Moore of Alabama; daughters, Pat Smith of Cuero, Linda Schuenemann of Lindenau, Sue Molands of Alvarado, and Robbie Stall of Morales; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 18 great, great-grandchildren.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma; brothers, Willie Douglas Moore and Leonard Kenneth Moore; daughters, Marilyn Moore, Sandra Franklin, and Kay Farmer; grandson, Kevin James; great-grandsons, Jonathon James Molands and Cory James Schuenemann; and nieces, Debbie Jo Moore and Lana Kay Moore.
 
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday, August 18, 2014 at 9 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home with Lynn Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. 
Pallbearers include Jonathan Molands, Carlton McBride, Arnold Schuenemann, Wesley Ledwick, William Conrad “Corky” Gooch, and Travis Stall.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Texas.
