
Doris M. Alston, 86, of San Antonio, entered into rest on Aug. 21, 2014.
She was born on Nov. 23, 1927, in Davy, Texas, to Edwin and Jydia (Jaeger) Hengst.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; and son-in-law, Howard Morton.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, James F. Alston; children, Barbara Ann Pape (Roland), Glenna Faye Dear (David), LaVonnia Gail Morton, and Brian Keith Alston (Kris); grandchildren, Kenneth Dear (Jennifer), Jason Mooney (Kira), Kimberly Howard (Lance), Wade Pape (Lora), Justin Mooney (Kira), Kimberly Howard (Lance), Wade Paper (Lora), and Justin Mooney (Glenda); 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Inez Lee Bues; brother, Wilbert Hengst (Kathy); numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Visitation took place from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 24 at Finch Funeral Chapel — La Vernia. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Aug. 25 at Trinity Lutheran Church in San Antonio. The Dr. Rev. Edward J. Kern officiated. Interment followed at Mission Burial Park South.
