Charles William Kuecker

Charles William Kuecker, 67, of Cuero passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. 
 
He was born September 15, 1946 in Cuero to the late Louis August Kuecker and Anna Buch Kuecker. He graduated from Cuero High School in 1965 and then served in the National Honor Guard. Charles married his beloved, Laura Kay Scott, on September 14, 1989, in Victoria. After working his entire life, Charles retired from the Cuero Housing Authority. Charles enjoyed Sunday drives to the “Big Country,” gardening, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He truly was a kid magnet.
 
He is survived by his wife; daughters; Kimberly Ley (Tim) and Melissa Johnson (Michael); sons, Michael Kuecker (Tiena) and Phillip Baros (Amanda); brothers, Lee Bell Kuecker, Sterling Kuecker, Lionel Kuecker, Farrell Kuecker, and Wilbert Kuecker; sister, Nelda Haschke; grandchildren, Bradley (Brittny), Clayton, Taylor, Tory, Hunter, Parker, and Lindley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Laverda Oehlke.
 
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 6, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. at Lifeway Baptist Church. Services will follow at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at Lifeway Baptist Church with Pastor Glen Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
 
Pallbearers include Dylan Scott, Joey Taylor, Leo Mock, Jr., Leslie Lucas, Fred Maldonado, and Patrick Martin. Honorary pallbearers are his loving grandchildren and the wonderful staff of Harbor Hospice and Hospice of South Texas.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choosing.
