
Jerry Paul Hudgens, DRPh, 61, of Victoria passed away Friday, November 14, 2014, at his home in Victoria from natural causes. He was born January 17, 1953 in Elk City, OK to the late Maude Font Hudgens and LaDona Marie Riggs Hudgens. He graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1976 and then received his Doctorate of Pharmacy with the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy. He married Valerie Mae Cady on December 11, 1998 in Mt. Pleasant. Jerry was a member of Church of Christ in Seadrift and Elk City, OK. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing with family and friends. He was an advocate of holistic wellness and medicine. Jerry loved his family dearly and will be truly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife; step-mother, Pearl Irene Hudgens of Elk City, OK; daughters, Kingslee Marie Mitchell and husband, Brandon, of Victoria and Randi Gayle Aery of Rockport; son, Jeremy Lynn Hudgens of Houston; brothers and sisters, Larry and Lana Hudgens, Allen and Kathy Robinson, Ray and Gail Mahl, and Sherry Mahl Lemond, all of Elk City, OK; brothers and sisters-in-law, Russel and Katrina Cady of Seadrift, Jeannie Cady of Aransas Pass, Shane and Vicki Dworaczyk of Seadrift, Robbie Crawford of Victoria, David and Debbie Holley of CA, and Bryan Roller of Austin; mother-in-law, Lillian Taylor of Victoria; father-in-law, Henry Gene Cady of Seadrift; grandchildren, Wyatt McKane, Madalyn Mae, Karoline Danielle, Randi Lynn, Savannah Paige, Tucker Carlyle, Andrew Bradley, Aaron Phillip, Zoe Reanne, and Sophie Annabelle.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Gary Fount Hudgens.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Jerry’s 62nd birthdate, January 17th, 2015, details to follow.
Honorary pallbearers are all of Jerry’s aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, Mark Alcorn, Harris Brooks, and all the pharmacy staff members who have worked by his side.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Texas.
