Betty Arlene McElroy, age 81, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 with her family by her side.
She was born June 8, 1933 in Ouray, Colorado to T.A. Jordan and Hazel Moon.
She met and married her husband (James Edward) of Concrete, where she resided until her passing.
She touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with. She especially loved to talk about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a housewife, devoted mother, member of the Pecan Growers Association, Texas Farm Bureau, South Texas Cattleman's Association and V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors: daughter, Holly Novosad (Adolph) of Shiner; sons, Larry McElroy (Brenda) of Stockdale, Zane McElroy (Jeannine) of Smithville and Glenn McElroy of Corpus Christi; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren with one more due in May: brother, Orrin Moon (Cindy) of Silt, Colorado; sister-in-law, Arlene Martin of Concrete along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, James Edward; parents, T.A. and Hazel; brothers, Jesse and Gene Jordan.
Visitation from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the funeral home.
Memorial service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home with Pastor Freddie Mueller officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to the donor’s choice.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Yoakum Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Warm Springs in Luling for the care Mom received at the end of her journey into the next life.
