
William C. Foster, 86, of Cuero passed away peacefully on the evening of Sept. 3, 2015, surrounded by the love of his children. After graduating from Southwestern University and University of Texas Law School, Bill spent the majority of his career as an attorney in Washington, D.C. He returned home to Cuero permanently in 1996 and began his research and writing of the history of the Southwest. His final manuscript was completed in the spring of this year.
Bill was preceded by his mother Avis Reiffert, sister Avis Marie Cochran, and many dear friends.
He is survived by his children and grandchildren William, Kirsten, Chandler and Annika Foster of Bainbridge Island, Washington; Birgitta Foster, Brad Irwin and Kalle Red-Horse of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Eric, Monique, Jenner and Olivia Foster of Old Lyme, Connecticut and Claire Foster of Wilmington, North Carolina as well as his nieces and nephews and their families: Avis Ann and Lovell Blain of Cuero, SuSu and Mark Fisher of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Bobby Cochran of Cuero.
A gathering of friends will be held at his home in Cuero on Nov. 28 from 3-6 p.m. All friends are welcome.
