Edna Emilie Richter Heil, 92, of Yorktown passed away Thursday Sept. 10, 2015. She was born on Dec. 16, 1922 to Alois and Pauline Lassig Richter near the town of Shiner, Lavaca County.
Edna was baptized on Jan. 30, 1924 at a Lutheran Church in Shiner by Rev. JCA Pfenninger, was confirmed March 17, 1940 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Yorktown by C G Hankammer. She is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Yorktown and a member of Women of Evangelical Church. Edna received her education at Wallace Ranch School near Westhoff, Stratton School, Yoakum ISD and graduated from Yorktown ISD.
Edna married Otto P. Heil on Nov. 23, 1947. They lived in Yorktown all their married life. Edna worked at several establishments in Yorktown, the last 40 years in the legal field retiring in July 2005. During WWII she worked for the USA from 1942 to 1945.
Edna is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and God children.
Edna is preceded in death by her parents, husband Otto P. Heil and infant brother Joseph A. Richter and sister Anna Richter Meischen.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday Sept. 11 at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 12 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Lindenau Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Yorktown EMS, Yorktown Fire Dept. or donor’s choice.
