Bennie Bauer

Bennie Bauer, age 81, passed away Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015.
 
He was born Jan. 29, 1934 in Gonzales to the late Benny and Julie Malatek Bauer.
 
He was a true cowboy with grit. He worked for over 65 years as a livestock handler in both Victoria and Cuero Livestock Auction Rings. He was tough but his tender side was for his beloved family.
 
Survivors are his wife of 64 years, Mary Louise Bauer of Cuero; sons, Jamey Bauer and wife Misty of Victoria, Billy Bauer of Cuero and Donald Bauer and wife Tina of Cuero; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sister, Adell Hahn of Yoakum.
 
Preceded in death by his parents; son, Bennie Bauer Jr.; sister, Ruby Bolin.
 
Visitation was 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 20 at Thiele Cooper Funeral Home with Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m.
 
Funeral Service was 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 21 at Thiele Cooper Funeral Home with Rev. David Berger officiating. Burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.
 
Pallbearers were Jamey Bauer Jr., James Welch, Joe Price, Mikey Urban, Bubba Noack, Jody Tillery and Lou Terry.
 
Honorary pallbearers were his fellow workers at Victoria and Cuero Livestock Commission.
 
Memorials may be given to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Cuero.
