Roderick Russell Lee was born in Cuero and left his earthy life Dec. 4, 2015. He is survived by his wife Nancy, of Costa Rica; his mother Lorene Lee, of Cuero; and brothers James E Gardner (Debbie), and Richard Harrison Wheeler of San Antonio; one niece, two nephews and one great nephew.
Russell graduated from Cuero High School in 1994, where he played football for the Cuero Gobblers. In 1998, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, and he served our nation admirably. After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Air Force, he served six years in the Texas National Guard, another part of his service to his country.
Russell attended ITT Technical Institution where he earned an Associate Degree in Electronic Engineering and was employed by Halliburton for years as a Computer Tech.
Russell Lee will be missed by many whose lives he touched in many ways; for his smile, and kind heart. He will never be forgotten. He loved living the pura vida, the pure life he lived in Costa Rica, for he was happy there and was able to live as he chose.
There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16 at First Presbyterian Church in Cuero.
