Florine E. John, 88, of Weesatche, passed away Feb. 8, 2016. She was born Nov. 6, 1927, in Nordheim to the late Alfred and Erna Stoever Schroedter.
Florine resided in Cuero for many years and was known for ironing for the public. She enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and quilting when she could.
Florine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman P. John; son-in-law, William Janysek; brother, Melvin Schroedter; and an infant sibling.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Janysek of Runge; grandchildren, Jennifer Salge (Kevin) of New Braunfels, Rebecca Eckerle (Robert) of Fair Oaks Ranch, Matthew Janysek (Emily) of Panna Maria; great-grandchildren, Kelly Eckerle, Sydney Janysek and Trenton Janysek; brother Edgar Schroedter of Cuero; sister, Erline Ideus of Weesatche; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 7–9 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 10 at Finch Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 11 at Finch Funeral Chapel with The Rev. Paul Kirchner officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
