Frank Ray Tamez, 55, of Victoria passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013.
He was born on Dec. 7, 1957 in Yorktown, Texas to Eva Tamez and the late Domingo Tamez. Frank’s wife is Melba Olivarez. The beloved mother to his children is Jeanette Garcia.
Frank was a wonderful father and grandfather. He worked hard all his life as a land surveyor for over 25 years. He was very outgoing. He loved to play baseball, barbecue, dance, and joke around, but most of all he loved to spend time with his family. He was one of a kind and will be missed dearly by all his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Melba Olivarez; daughter, Angelina Galvan of Corpus Christ; sons, Zachary Macias of Corpus Christi and Jacob Garcia of Victoria; mother, Eva Tamez of Victoria; sisters, Janie Tamez of Waxahachie and Lupe Monjaras of Waxahachie; and brother, Willie Tamez of Cuero. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Daylan Martinez of Victoria, O'Liana Galvan of Corpus Christi, Delilah Macias of Corpus Christi, Cherish Galvan of Corpus Christi, Joe Anthony Olivarez of Victoria, and John Angel Olivarez of Victoria.
He is preceded in death by his father.
Pallbearers will include Jacob Garcia, Gilbert Macias, William Tamez, Ben Monjaras, Miguel Monjaras and Anthony Olivarez.
Honorary pallbearers will include Willie Tamez, Agustin Gonzales, Herman Gonzales and Joe Guerra.
Visitation will be held on from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11 at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 at St. Aloysius Church in Westhoff. Father Charles Otsiwah will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery.
