Henry Frank Henkes III, 31, left this world on April 15, 2016. He was born in Cuero to Beatrice and Henry Henkes, Jr. on August 15, 1984. Henry lived his entire life in Cuero and was a graduate of Cuero High school in 2002. He has spent the last 9 years working as a gas compressor mechanic for CDM Resource Management.
Henry is survived by his loving wife Nichole and his two precious sons, Grayson (5) and Brantley (18 months) as well as his parents. He also leaves his sister Sabrina (Adonis) Gray, brother Randolph (Ashley) Henkes, grandfather, Franklin Schmidt, grandmother, Samantha Krause and numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
If you were lucky enough to know Henry, you knew him as a friend. He never met a stranger and those that knew him, loved him. Henry's smile was contagious and you never saw him in a bad mood. If anyone ever needed anything, Henry was there. His wife and children, family, dancing, singing, fishing and BBQ's were his favorite ways to spend his time. Most nights you could find Henry by a fire, some type of meat on the grill, a beer in his hand, and his family and friends around him. He was always the life of the party, and you couldn't help but smile when you were near him. Bear hugs and laughter were part of the package with Henry. He leaves behind a big hole in all of our lives, and will be greatly missed.
Even in death, Henry continued to give. He was an organ donor, and because of his selfless gift, someone is seeing clearer today....and a very lucky person may have received the biggest and best heart many of us have ever known. It gives us all comfort in knowing that Henry continues on in both of his sons, but also in the countless people his organ donations saved.
The family would like to thank everyone that came to show support and love to the family in this time of need.
