Joyce Aldine Borgfeld, 87, of Weesatche passed away Monday June 6, 2016. She was born July 30, 1928 in Yorktown to the late Charles and Frieda Peters Freude. Joyce was a homemaker and owner of the original Weesatche Café in downtown Weesatche for 35 plus years, where she fried up her famous fried chicken and battered fries.
She is survived by her children, Victor (Vicky) Borgfeld Jr of Cuero, Warren (Margaret) Borgfeld of Weesatche, Harvey (Cheryl) Borgfeld of Weesatche, Darvin (Vickie) of Weesatche and Charles (Michelle) Borgfeld of Arneckeville. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, sisters Nelrose Enke and Margaret Despain.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Victor Borgfeld Sr., son Royce Paul Borgfeld, brothers Calton Freude and Allen Freude and sister June Spellmann.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday June 9 at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday June 10 at Massey Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Andrews Lutheran Cemetery in Weesatche.
Pallbearers will be Jakob Hochdorf, Dr. Nathan Borgfeld, Victor Paul Borgfeld, Maurice Reitz, James Dueser and Leon Dohman. Honorary pallbearer will be Bryan Borgfeld.
