
Celestina P. Villa, 88 , of Cuero passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016. She was born June 8, 1928 in Gillette to the late Santos and Maria Pena. Celestina married Guadalupe Villa, Sr. on May 12, 1947 in Nixon. She worked for Fischer Laundry for 36 years as a seamstress. Celestina loved to crochet and was caretaker of her whole family.
She is survived by daughters Mary Rocha (Rudy) of Cuero, Janie Alvarez (Tony) of Renton, Washington, Sally Martinez of San Antonio, Olga Hamilton (Darwin) of Victoria, Geneva Villa of Houston, Lydia Johnson (Kevin) of Conroe, Delia Ana Villa of Killeen; sons, Guadalupe Villa, Jr. (Janie), Amando Villa, Ismael Villa (Pat), Ricky Villa and Martin Villa all of Cuero and Joe Villa of Corpus Christi; 22 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and sister, Elosia Arispe of San Antonio.
She is preceded in death by her husband Guadalupe Villa, Sr.; sisters, Nativida Gonzales and Janie Trevino; and grandchildren Aarron Rocha and Chrissy Villa.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 12 at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with a Rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m. Services will be held Monday, June 13 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father David Berger officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Amando Villa, Martin Villa, Michael Villa, Tyler Villa, Nick Villa and Ricky Villa. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Raymond Reese, Dr. Daniel Dugi, all grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
