Ruby N. Thigpen, 84, of Cuero passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016. She was born Dec. 11, 1931 in Cuero to Ned and Viola Thigpen. Ruby had a deep love for all animals and worked to rescue, spay/neuter those that were lucky enough to cross her path.
She is survived by her brother, Walter Ray Thigpen of Mission Valley, Vernon Thomas Thigpen of Port Lavaca, and Douglas Conrad Thigpen of Cuero; sisters, Geraldine Thigpen Spears of Cuero, Doris Thigpen White of Cuero, Loyce Thigpen Sikes of Woodsboro and Deborah Jean Thigpen of Victoria; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ned Thigpen and Viola Simon Thigpen; and brother, Ned Thigpen, Jr.
Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 11 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home with Pastor Donna L. Martin officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Hospice Victoria.
