
Melba Faye Hahn, 76, of Cuero passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017. Melba was born on Oct. 2, 1940 in Cuero, Texas. She was the daughter of Minnie and Alphonse Scheffler. Melba was a longtime member of St. Michaels Catholic Church. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved caring for her family and openly welcomed all who entered her home. Her favorite past time was going to the casinos in Louisiana.
She is survived by her husband Robert P. Hahn; daughter, Nancy Lancaster (John) of Cuero; sons, Bobby Hahn (Rhonda) of Victoria and Leo Sharron (Anne) of Cuero; brother Kenneth Scheffler of Baytown; grandchildren, Anthony Hance (Ceara), Amanda Means (Gordon), Brittany Hutchinson, Brandon Michalek, Aleacia Dippel, Cayla Hahn, and Jacob Hahn and seven great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation, Rosary and Funeral Mass were held Sunday, Jan. 15 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with visitation at 1 p.m., rosary at 1:30 p.m. and services to begin at 2 p.m. with Fr. David Berger and her son Deacon Leo Sharron officiating. Interment followed at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Koerth.
Pallbearers included Brandon Michalek, Jacob Hahn, Anthony Hance, and Gordon Means.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael’s Catholic School and Hospice of South Texas.
