
Marlis June Felber, 88, of Cuero passed away Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017. She was born Sept. 24, 1928 in Saskatchewan, Canada to Carl and Anna M. Smith. She married Garnet Ross Snow in 1946. Marlis immigrated to the United States in June, 1965 and settled with her children in Wichita, Kansas, where her parents resided. She worked alongside her parents in their nursing home while attending classes at Wichita State University to obtain her L.P.N. Degree in Nursing. Marlis then became a Licensed Administrator and opened Ninnescah Manor Nursing Home in Clearwater, Kansas in 1969 where she continued her passion to care for the elderly for 27 years.
She married Albert H. Felber in 1972. She was an active member and Lay Minister of First United Methodist Church in Clearwater, KS. She was a member of a “Biking” group and participated in an annual “BAK” Bike across Kansas; wherein they would cycle 500 miles across the state within the week. On one of the days Marlis would bike 100 miles in one day to earn her “Century” patch.
In 2005, Marlis moved to Cuero, Texas. Once again she assimilated into the community, first joining the First United Methodist Church of Cuero. She was an active participator, she loved people, parties and being involved. She was a Bridge player, joined the Silver Sneakers and enjoyed line dancing and her Emmaus group.
She is survived by her daughters, Judith Ann Stevenson of Houston, Colleen Marlis Follick of Casper, Wyoming; son, Glen-Gary Snow of Malaga, Spain; sister, Dolores Mae Arnold of San Antonio; and grandchildren Kelley Kinder of Lawrence Kansas, Braylen Dunn of Denver, Colorado, Leah Snow of Canada, Anna Snow of Ottawa, Canada, John Snow of Canada, Kathryn Adkins of England, Brian Stevenson of Houston, Gregory Stevenson of Sedona, Arizona, David Follick and Daniel Follick both of Casper, Wyoming.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Donna Martin officiating. She will be laid to rest in Clearwater, Kansas with her husband, Albert.
