Alvin William Kolodziejcyk Sr., 86, of Cuero passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013.
He was born Jan. 3, 1927 in Yorktown to the late Alois and Matilda Sprencel Kolodziejcyk. He married his beloved wife Catherine Helen Ibrom on Aug. 8, 1950 in Westhoff. He served in the U.S. Army. Alvin worked for TxDOT as a carpenter for 25 years and he was a life-long farmer and rancher. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, St. Michael’s Building Committee and St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, of 62 years, daughters, Patsy Warzecha (David)and Brenda Baca (Brian); sons, Alvin J. Kolodziejcyk Jr. (Wanda), Allen Kolodziejcyk (Patty), and Dale Kolodziejcyk (fiancé, Pam); brothers, Alois Kolodziejcyk Jr., and Lee Gus Kolodziejcyk; sisters, Alta Woytasczyk, Evelyn Feller, and Mary Ann Kendel; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Victor Kolodziejcyk; and son-in-law, Dennis Seidel.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. Monday, May 27 at Freund Funeral Home. Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 28 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father David Berger officiating. Interment will be follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Yorktown.
Pallbearers include Kevin Kolodziejcyk, Kurtis Kolodziejcyk, Jasob Baca, Brian Strelitz, Carlos Griffin and Jarrod Stepanski.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
