Martha C. Sanchez, 76, of Cuero passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017. She was born Aug. 9, 1940 in Cuero to the late Miguel G. Carmona and San Juanita V. Carmona. Martha enjoyed sewing, photography, traveling and collecting antiques. She was a friend to everyone and always willing to help wherever she could.
She is survived by her daughter JoAnn Parker of Elgin; sons, Gilbert C. Torres (Mary) and Armando C. Diaz, Sr. MBA (Michelle); sister, Marina Munoz of Cuero; brothers, Rev. John Carmona (Rachel) of Victoria, Manuel Carmona (Gloria) of Cuero, Mike Carmona (Josie) of Cuero and Jesse Carmona of Victoria; grandchildren, Timothy Torres of Cuero, Armando C. Diaz, Jr., U.S. Navy stationed in Mayport FL, Matthew Valdez and Ashley Valdez both of Elgin and Samantha S. Diaz of El Paso.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, George Villa; sister, Rachel Carmona; and brothers, Rev. Abraham Carmona and Albert Carmona.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service to begin at 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral Services to be held Sunday, March 5 at 2 p.m. at El Buen Pastor/The Good Shepherd Church in Cuero, with Rev. John Carmona and Rev. David Pantoja officiating.
Interment to follow in Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Timothy Torres, Armando C. Diaz, Jr., Matthew Valdez, Gilbert Torres, Armando C. Diaz, Sr. and Tommy Munoz. Honorary pallbearers are all of her nephews.
