Ora Green passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the age of 65. She was born on Sept. 4, 1951 to the late Calvin Johnson and Rosie Lee Bryant in Cuero.
Ora Green was a longtime resident of Cuero since 1995 and attended Little Zion Baptist Church where she was on the Little Zion Mission and Usher Board. She worked for the Civil Service for 11 years; and retired as a corrections officer where she had worked for 17 years for the TDCJ. She also worked for the Cuero ISD in the last few years of her life.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Ronald Green, Sr., sons Ronald Green, Jr. and stepson Ronell Green; daughters Lisa (Adarryll) Sheppard and Tina (Larrow) Calloway, Jr.; brothers Herbert Bryant, Carlton Bryant, Larry Bryant, Ernest Carter, Calvin Johnson, Jr., Ray Johnson, and Glance Johnson; sisters Alberta Battles, Ora Johnson Vickie Johnson, Millie Johnson, and Peaches Johnson; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; and family friend, William Oliver.
Ora is preceded by her father, Calvin Johnson, Sr.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, March 10 at the Little Zion Baptist Church in Cuero from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the L.E. Encampment Grounds in Cuero, TX on Saturday, March 11 at 1 p.m. with Rev. A.L. Taylor, officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
