Lucille E. Thieme, 103, of Cuero passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017. She was born Nov. 2, 1913 in Schroeder to the late Alfred and Mathilda Hartman. Lucille married Edwin H. Thieme on Dec. 9, 1933 at Zion Lutheran Church in Arneckeville. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was a Leader in the 4-H Club for many years. She enjoyed cooking , gardening, playing dominoes and collecting bottles.
She is survived by daughter, Nita Pakebusch and husband, Garland; son, Larry Thieme and wife, Barbara; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Victor Hartman and James Hartman.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 7 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 8 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Arneckeville with Pastor Barbara Beale officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
Pallbearers are Scott Pakebusch, Stan Pakebusch, Jay Thieme, Cameron Thieme, Gary Bouillion, Ivor Bon, Harold Hartman and Dennis Taylor.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church general fund or cemetery fund or donor’s choice.
