Elizabeth Rusche Oehlke, age 57, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014.

Liz was born on August 9, 1956 in Cuero.

Liz was a business co-owner of Off Broadway Antiques and Resale and was a Baptist.

Survivors: daughters, Scarlett Elizabeth Oehlke and Golden Dale Oehlke; sister, DeLula Rusche Cook (Mark); mother, Gladdie Rusche; nieces, Kelly Elizabeth Arnold Thomas (Auric) and Courtney Kacir; nephews, Ashton Cook (Brandy) and Mitchell Cook; great-nieces, Keanna Shelton and Kyla Jones; great-nephew, Preston Cook.

Preceded in death by: father, David Rusche; sister, Deborah Arnold; niece, Kathleen Kacir and a brother-in-law, Ken Arnold.

Liz was blessed with a sweet spirit and room in her heart for all of life’s wonders. There were no strangers in her life and no room for judgement. Equally blessed with quick and hysterically funny responses, we all loved her. A beautiful mother to her daughters and someone her nieces and great-niece adored. Liz graduated from Cuero High School in 1974, taught school at Grace Episcopal for many years and then opened her own shop in Cuero called Off Broadway. A small business of antiques and resale. Liz loved shopping for fine collectables and treasures. Her shop was a place for friends and family to meet and hang out. This is our loss and we will miss her like crazy.

Memorial Service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Cuero with the Rev. Glenn Robertson officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of South Texas, 605 E. Locust Avenue, Victoria, Texas 77901 or American Cancer Society at cancer.org/donate.
