
Marilyn K. Mayer, 66, of Cuero passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014. She was born January 5, 1948, in Beeville to the late Paul Krause and Bette Jo Kebodeaux. Marilyn married her husband, Travis Mayer, on July 3, 2008, in Cuero. Marilyn was a beloved employee of the Texas Department of Corrections where she retired as a Corrections Officer. Marilyn enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband; daughter, Robin Hoffer (Charlie); sons, Allen Wayne Mayer (Natalan), Michael Lane Mayer, and Derrin Scott Mayer (Josie); Sister, Paula Handy; Niece, Jennifer Bernal (Joseph); great-nephew, Blake Bernal; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be Monday, March 31, 2014, 2:00 p.m., at Freund Funeral Home with Pastor Ken McCarthy officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Joseph Bernal, Allen Wayne Mayer, Michael Mayer, Scott Mayer, Charlie Hoffer, Jessie Armstrong IV.
Honorary pallbearers include Caleb Mayer, Kacey Whitt, Jacob Stroebele, Landon Mayer, Blake Bernal, Travis Klekar, Kevin Medina, Matthew Mayer, and Johnathan Mayer.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
