Davis Charles Kainer

Davis Charles Kainer, 65, of Cuero passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014.
 
He was born October 28, 1948 in Columbus to Edgar and Helen Dahse Kainer. Davis bravely served his country in the United States Marine Corp. from April 5, 1969 to April 2, 1971. He did a one year tour in Vietnam where he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, RVN Cross of Gallantry with Palm, and Navy Achievement Medal of Combat “V.” Davis married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Verunac, on July 6, 1973 in Weimar, Texas. Davis spent most of his working career in sales. He owned and operated Kainer’s Drive-In from October of 1979 to May of 1989. Davis enjoyed hunting, cooking, water sports, gardening, and barbecue cook-offs. He was an avid supporter of Poor Boys and Cuero Turkeyfest. Davis was a devoted husband and father. His family meant everything to him. Davis suffered a sudden complication related to his courageous battle with Esophageal Cancer.
 
He is survived by his mother; wife; sons, Ryan Kainer and Trent Kainer (Kayla) of Cuero; brother, Harris Kainer (Sandy) of Weimar; and granddaughter, Macy of Rankin.
 
He was proceeded in death by his father and twin sons, Richard and Scott Kainer.
 
Visitation will be held Monday, April 21, 2014 from 4 to 6 pm at St. Michaels Catholic Church. Services will be held at 6 pm on Monday, April 21, 2014 at St. Michaels Catholic Church with Father David Berger officiating. 
 
Memorial contributions may be made to Poor Boys Scholarship Fund and Wounded Warriors.
