Cleo “Pinkie” W. Marks, 65, of Cuero passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014.
He was born November 20, 1948 in Providence, KY to Cleo and Louise Marks. He was the third of eight children. Pinkie attended Cuero High School and graduated from West High School in May of 1966. He married his beloved JoAnn Sauer on December 16, 1972 in Cuero. He served in Navy for four years. Pinkie was a master electrician and worked all of South Texas and surrounding states for Marks Electric Co. His children and grandchildren were the loves of his life.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years; son, Michael Wayne Marks (Heather) of Cuero; grandchildren, Kaylan and Kaleb Marks of Cuero; sisters, Donna Walker of Madisonville, KY, Linda Peterson (Ron) of Arneckeville, and Mary Hancock (James) of Arneckeville; brothers, Karl Marks (Debbie) of Texarkana, AR, John Marks (Marie) of Utopia, and Frankie Marks (Andra') of Cuero; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; sister, Nancy Marks Hiet; grandparents Fred and Annie Harvey and Frank and Mollie Marks.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church in Arneckeville with Pastor Barbara Beale officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Kaleb Marks, Frankie Marks, Johnny Marks, Karl (Butch) Marks, Doug Hartman, Darwin Jacobs, James Hancock, and Ron Peterson.
Honorary pallbearers include Jamie Hancock, Alton Sager, Floyd Sullivan, Bobby Walters, Kern Harper, Mike Fers, Chuck Willson, Roger Booth, and Fred Fuller.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church and Cemetery Funds or a charity of the donor’s choice.
