Our mother, Rose Torres, fell asleep in death on Tuesday, April 8, 2014.
She was born on March 17, 1939 to Tomasa Marino Garza and Margarito Garza. Rose was the youngest of 13 children, three sisters and nine brothers.
She is survived by her sister, Nora Garza. Rose had numerous nieces and nephews. Her favorite niece was Marie Ramos of Lubbock. Rose married Pablo F. Torres on Nov. 12, 1959. They had four children: Josephine (Reynaldo) Beltran, Richard (Joyce) Torres, Lee (Rose) Torres, and Maggie Torres. Rose had 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Rose had what people called a “green thumb.” She adored her flowers. She always had a big smile. She will be missed by all who loved her. She came to know and love her Maker, Jehovah God, and believed in the promise of Paradise.
