Sandra Jean Machen

   Sandra Jean Machen was born March 1, 1949 to Edwin Henry Nagel and Edna Caroline Krueger in Cuero. She went to be with her Lord Thursday, July 25, 2013 in League City, at the age of 64 years after battling breast cancer since 1995. 
   Her loving family includes husband of 44 years, Ken Machen of Livingston, Texas; sons, David Machen and wife Bettina Schtheiss of Jena, Germany, Dan Machen and wife Louisa of Meyersville, and Doug Machen and wife Laurel of League City; daughter, Denise Laffey of League City; and brother, Charles Nagel of Cuero. She is preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen Nagel Benfield. Sandra was part owner of a Montessori Preschool in League City for 18 years were she loved to teach pre-school. Sandra was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Sandra had 11 grandchildren she adored and loved spending time with every chance she got. Her grandchildren were: Silas, Noah, Elias, Shannon, Sarah, Bryce, Cade, Cale, Lyssa, Riley and Laney.
   A visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, July 26 at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston with a rosary beginning at 6 p.m. A celebration of Sandra’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 27 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on 2590 Hwy 190 W. in Livingston. The Father Clifton Labbe, S.V.D. will be officiating. Interment will be held at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Houston at a later date. 
   Pallbearers will be David Machen, Dan Machen, Doug Machen, Silas Schtheiss, Scott Benfield and Mike Rees.
