Martin Lopez Sr. was born August 18, 1965 in Cuero, TX. He married Cynthia Barerra, they had 2 children, Gloria and Martin Jr. They moved to Nebraska in the early 1990’s. After his divorce he married Lisa Petet, their two children are James and Victoria. In 2011 he married Sandra Upchurch. Martin did construction work for many years. He enjoyed playing guitar hero, taking things apart, fishing, camping and guns. He was known and loved by many. While living in Texas he received the Texas Hero Medal for rescuing a boy from a house fire.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra; children, Gloria Lopez and special friend Matthew Hill of Beatrice, Martin Lopez Jr. and wife Helen of Wymore, Ashley Norris and fiancee Jerry Bray of Blue Springs, James Lopez of Beatrice and Victoria Lopez of Beatrice; 9 grandchildren; mother, Elena Lopez of Cuero, TX brothers, LeRoy Lopez and wife Rhonda of Beatrice, Joe Lopez of Cuero, TX, and Sammy Lopez and wife Jennifer of Victoria, TX; sister, Virginia Mejia and husband Joey of Beatrice; nieces and nephews; father, R. Leroy Lopez; and daughter, Gloria Lopes.
Memorial Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. A visitation will be held 2-4 pm. Monday at Harman-Wright Mortuary.
