Ladislaus (Lad) W. Warzecha, 85, of Ormond Beach, Florida and Berwyn, PA peacefully passed away on December 27, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 55 years, Elinor (Ryan) and brothers Robert and Newton.
Lad is survived by his children: Janet (Rick Skipper) of Ormond Beach, FL, Carol (Kevin Murray) of Audubon, PA and Gary (Alex Warzecha) of Chester Springs, PA; six grandchildren, Stephanie and Kelly Skipper, Kevin and Gregory Murray, Christine and Vincent Warzecha; his sister, Rose, and three of his brothers, Vincent, Tony and David.
Born in the farming community of Mustang Mott, Texas, Lad was one of the late Vincent and Susie Warzecha’s seven children. He graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Electrical Engineering at age 19. After graduation Lad worked for General Electric on such projects as the Gemini, Discoverer and Apollo space programs, the Alaskan pipeline, and many military defense system programs. He retired as a vice president of General Electric after 40 years of service. When asked about his career he said, “I had a ball!” Lad had many interests including golfing, hunting, fishing, auto racing and crossword puzzles. However, above all else his primary focus was his love for and enjoyment of spending time with his family and friends.
Relatives and friends may call on Fri. Jan. 2, 2015 from 9:15-10:30AM at St. Monica’s Church: 35 Main Ave. Berwyn, PA 19312. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30AM with long time Pastor and friend Father William Trader officiating. Interment to follow at St. Monica’s Cemetery, Berwyn, PA.
