WEESATCHE – June Catherine “Cathy” Meyer 76, of Weesatche passed away peacefully after a courageous battle of cancer, Thursday May 14, 2015. She was born July 23, 1938 in Runge, Texas to the late Adolph and Margueriete Spinks Stehle. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Cathy loved animals, working on the family ranch, cooking, baking and entertaining family and friends. She married the love of her life, Lavern Meyer on May 30, 1958 in Cuero.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Lavern Meyer of Weesatche, daughters Judy Miller and Jayne Rickman of Weesatche, son Timothy (Kristi) Meyer of Weesatche, sisters Jewel Uhl of Deer Park, Louise (Norbert) Vogel of Yorktown, Karen (Warren) Rogers of Katy, brothers Cleveland Stehle of Nordheim, and Mark Stehle of San Antonio. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ashley (Travis) Wachtstetter of Clute, Keli Miller of Weesatche, Dustin May of Cuero, Cheyenne (Casey) Bowen of Goliad, Tucker Rickman of Weesatche, Cassidy Meyer and Cash Meyer of Weesatche and great-grandchild Case Wachtstetter and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and infant sister Hazel Stehle.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Monday May 18 at Massey Funeral Home. Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday May 19 at Massey Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Weesatche Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Rogers, Johnathan Stehle, Douglas Vogel, Dustin May, Travis Wachtstetter and Casey Bowen. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
