Celia O'Neal

Celia Marie McAlpin O’Neal  formally of Cuero passed away peacefully in League City, Texas surrounded by her children. 
 
Celia was born September 8, 1937 in Elk City, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Lawrence and Marie McAlpin.  
Celia loved to read, sew, crochet, and do arts and crafts. She earned a B.S. and MLS from the University of Southern Mississippi. After retiring from Houston ISD, she moved to Cuero and volunteered at St. Michael’s School where she was awarded the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Award. Celia loved Cuero and made many new friends in the more than 10 years that she lived here.
 
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m., Friday, July 17 at Fairlawn cemetery in Elk City, Oklahoma. Rev. Chinnaiah Pudota will officiate.  Services have been entrusted into the care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.
Celia was preceded in death and welcomed into heaven by her parents Lawrence and Marie McAlpin and her son Tim O’Neal, formerly of Refugio, Texas.
 
Celia is survived by two daughters: Cindy (Jareed) Anzaldua of San Antonio, Mary (David) Guerra of League City, Texas and one son: Shawn O’Neal of Salado, Texas. Her brother Clay McAlpin lives in Palm Desert, California. Celia is also survived by seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one greatgreat-grandchild. She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
