
Chester Michael Lucas, Jr., 74, of Cuero passed away July 12, 2015. He was born on October 20, 1940 in Cuero to the late Chester Mike Lucas, Sr. and Hedwig Marie Lagleder Lucas. He married the love of his life, Mary Ann Cox Lucas, on September 15, 1962 at St. Michael's Church in Cuero. He became an electrician and spent his career with Brown & Root in Ingleside and also at HB Zachary at the DuPont plant in Victoria. He was a member of Hermann & Sons for over 60 years, a Life Scout of Boy Scouts, and a lifetime member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his beloved wife; daughters, Deborah Locher of Cedar Creek and Cindy Raz (Chris) of Victoria; sons, James Lucas (Penny) of Inez, Lonnie Lucas (Hilary) of Victoria, Ronnie Lucas of Victoria, and Stephen Lucas (Kenna) of Gonzales; sisters, Virginia Bohne of Cuero; and ten grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Lucas; grandchildren, Katie Marie Hengst, Lynn Marie Locher, Addison Nicole Lucas, Patrick Alan Locher; and great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Heimann.
Visitation will be held at Freund Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 6-8 pm with a Rosary to begin at 7 pm. Funeral services will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 10:00 am, with Father David Berger officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Kenneth Hennessy, Larry Lucas, Tim Sanders, Kevin Wanjura, Ricky Harryman, and Darrell Cox. Honorary pallbearers include Dale Harryman, Gussie Leck, Monroe Rigger, Danny Otto, Marvin Fox, and Charles Cox.
