Rick A. Meitzen, Sr. of Granite Shoals, peacefully slipped into his eternal rest on Sept. 4, 2015.
Rick was 56 years young, born April 5, 1959 in Taylor. He is the son of John and Lorine Meitzen of Cuero. Rick graduated from Round Rock High in 1977. He and his wife owned and operated Meitzen Landscape and Design in the Austin area for many years.
Rick is survived by his parents, his devoted and loving wife of 25 years, Angela Dearman Meitzen; daughters, Janey Rene Meitzen of Granite Shoals and Sheryl Loraine Meitzen of Victoria/Cuero; son Rick A. Meitzen, Jr. of Wharton; and one brother Ray Steven Meitzen (friend Kay) a Johnson City. He is also survived by his grandchildren Granger Luke Hall of Granite Shoals; Jon Paul Williams and Josiah Rickman of Cuero; Mason and Chloe Meitzen of Wharton. Rick is also survived by a very special uncle, Ret. Maj. Raymond Kruger of Austin; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces nephews, great-nephews, a great-niece, as well as many friends.
Rick was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Randy Lynn Meitzen of Austin; maternal grandparents, Ewalt and Janey Kruger of Hutto; paternal grandparents, Jack and Theresa Meitzen of Cuero and his aunt, Ruth K. Williamson of Cuero.
A memorial service will held at a later date.
