Elaine Wilkinson Boston, 90, of Westhoff passed away Friday, September 18, 2015. She was born August 4, 1925 to the late Edmond Wilkinson and Era Stone Wilkinson. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and Baptist Memorial School of Nursing in San Antonio. She went on to marry the love of her life, Joe Boston in 1948. Elaine became a registered nurse and worked in San Antonio at various hospitals in the operating rooms. She retired in 1979 as the Director of Operating and Recovery Rooms at San Antonio Community Hospital after 33 years of nursing. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cuero, and a life time member of V.F.W in Cuero and American Legion Auxiliary in Westhoff.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law Brenda Hicks Boston of Kingsland; grandchildren, Lisa Boston Nesloney of San Antonio and Stephanie K. Boston of Austin; and great-grandchildren, River Nesloney of San Antonio and Kate Boston Dombrowski of Connecticut.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 63 years; sister, June Settlemeyer; and son, Robert 'Bob' Boston.
Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, Sept. 25 at 11:30 a.m., at Freund Funeral Home with Pastor Rich Schaller officiating. Interment will follow at Westhoff Cemetery.
