
Lyndon Dale Allen, Sr., 80, after a long battle with cancer went to be with his Lord on Monday, Oct. 12, 2015. He was born on Aug. 20, 1935 in Wicks, Arkansas to J.T. and Helen Thorton.
Lyndon had two great careers. He proudly served in the US Navy for 24 years.
Upon retiring, he then became a teacher in Kingsville, where he retired.
Lyndon Dale was a friend to many and dearly loved by his family. Lyndon was a member of the Fannin United Methodist Church. He loved God, country and family until his death.
He was married to the love of his life, Marilyn Ruth Allen, for 54 years until her death.
Survivors include his daughter, Tina Allen Kunkel and husband Richard of Schroeder; brother, Billy Allen of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Tiffany Nicole Aguilar and husband Thomas and Heather Lanae Kunkel, both of Victoria; great-grandchild, Isabella Marie Aguilar; Norma Quintanilla of Victoria who was like a daughter and Denny Lawson who was like a brother.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a son, Lyndon Dale Allen, Jr. and sister, Glinda.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17 at Fannin United Methodist Church, 9852 US 59, Fannin, Texas with Rev. Dr. Ileen Foley officiating.
