
Stacy L. Kurtz (nee Kubecka), 84, of Austin, formerly of Cuero, passed away Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at Park Bend Nursing and Rehab Center in Austin. Stacy was born on Feb. 24, 1931 in Shiner to the late August Sr. and Josephine Simper Kubecka. On Oct. 10, 1949 she married Edward F. Kurtz at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Cuero and also a member of Hermann Sons and St. Louis Catholic Church in Austin. Stacy was a wonderful dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker all of her life.
She is survived by son, Edward J. Kurtz and wife, Betty, of Austin; granddaughter, Kimberly Lindsey and husband, Billy, of Leander; great-granddaughters, Jordan Nelson and Emily Lindsey of Leander; step great-grandchildren Cody and Kelsey Lindsey of Round Rock; sister-in-law Stacy Kubecka of Shiner; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Stacy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, August, Jr. and Frankie Kubecka; and sister, Marie Tesar.
Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 27 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. with a Rosary at 6 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Nov. 28 at 10 a.m., at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father David Berger officiating. Interment will follow at Shiner Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Kenney Kubecka, Frankie Joe Tesar, Billy Lindsey, Chad Pate, Ben Mozisek and David Freudenberg.
