
Paul Joseph Gebauer, 84, of Cuero passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016. He was born Nov, 27, 1931 in Placedo to Frank and Albina Gebauer. He married the love of his life, Jessie Belle Wiseman, on Dec. 12, 1953 in Vernon. They were married for 62 glorious years. Paul served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus and St. Michael’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and cooking for them. He loved to cook and was known for his Chili and Kolaches. He enjoyed visiting with his nieces and nephews. He worked for Weber Motor Company for over 30 years and continued to enjoy visiting there after retirement.
He is survived by his daughters, Paula (Virgil) Brown of Cuero and Sharon (Ira) Epstein of Round Rock; grandchildren, Haley (Christopher) Urbanovsky of Cuero, Michael Epstein of Austin, and Melissa O’Brien of Gainesville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jessie Belle; grandson, Bradley Brown; sisters, Evelyn Gebauer, Jessie Kraatz and Willie Mae Sinclair; brothers, Kasper Gebauer, Leo Gebauer, John Gebauer and Fred Gebauer.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 1 at Freund Funeral Home at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday, March 2 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father David Berger officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Haley Urbanovsky, Christopher Urbanovsky, Michael Epstein, Jay Gebauer, Troy Stoneburner and Cliff Weber.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael’s Catholic Church or the Texas Lions Camp.
