Alexander (Alex) Lopez, 80, of Cuero passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016. He was born June 3, 1935 in Concrete to the late Louis Lopez and Librada DeHoyos Lopez. He married the love of his life, Dora Saenz, Oct. 17, 1959 in Belton.
He is survived by his wife, Dora; daughters Mary Linda Arguellez (Mario), JoAnn Renteria (Michael) and Yolanda Barron (Nabor), all of Cuero; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe Lopez (Dorothy) of Yoakum and Johnny Trevino (Theresa) of Cuero.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers David Lopez, Martin Lopez, Leroy Lopez, Louis Lopez, Jr., Augustine Lopez, Jesse Lopez, Sr., and infant Pedro Lopez; sisters, infant Marie Louisa Lopez, Frances Gutierrez, Elvira Vera and Narcissa Alaniz.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 10 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home with a Rosary beginning at 6 p.m. Services will be held Friday, March 11 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father David Berger officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Johnny Trevino, Joe Louis Lopez, Mario Arguellez, Jr., Andrew Arguellez, Michael Renteria, Jr., Nabor Barron III and Jase Barron. Honorary Pallbearers are grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
