Ida Varela passed into eternal rest on Aug. 17, 2016 at the age of 49. She was born on Sept. 7, 1966 in Yorktown to the late Pete V. Rodriguez and Pauline Ruiz Rodriguez.
Ida leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 31 years Ismal Varela; her mother, Pauline Ruiz Rodriguez; her only son, Michael “Chito” and Angela Varela; grandsons, Isaac and Makai Varela; brothers, Pete and Yolanda Rodriguez, Michael and Stephanie Rodriguez, Jesse and Delilah Rodriguez, and brother in law Henry Varela.
Ida is preceded in death by her father Pete V. Rodriguez.
Pallbearers: Danny Stewart, Jesse Martinez, Bobby Allen Jones, Wayne Mathis, Brandon Mays, James Washington, Isaiah Gamez and Jason Gamez.
Honorary Pallbearers: Isaac and Makai Varela, Michael Rodriguez Jr., Jacob Rodriguez, Aran Rodriguez, Trey Rodriguez, Isaac West, Brayden Rodriguez, Amari Rodriguez, Jessiah Rodriguez, Nehemiah Rodriguez, Azariah Rodriguez, Faith Rodriguez, Cameron Rodriguez, Joseph Varela, Gabriella Cortines, Christopher Zapata, Carmen Deleon, Leijah Sanchez, Hector Gamez and Eugene Gamez, the Graduating Class of 1984, American Regional and the Cuero Dialysis Center.
A visitation was held on Sunday, Aug. 21 from 5:30-7 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 7:00pm at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Cuero. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 22 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero.
