Services for Scott Benfield

Scott Benfield of San Marcos passed away on September 8, 2016 at the age of 50. He was born on December 11, 1965 in San Antonio, Texas to Fred and Kathleen (Nagel) Benfield.
Scott was a fun loving person who loved to be with his family and friends. He loved to golf, hunt, bowl and bar-b-que. He was a devoted and faithful man of the Hays Praise Emmaus group. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Edwin and Edna Nagel; and his aunt, Sandra Machen.
Scott is survived by his sister, Melissa Benfield of Dallas; his beloved Aunt Jean and Uncle Charles; his cousins, Jeff Nagel and Katy and family, Greg Nagel and Eric Barton, Ann and Jim Pratt and Sam, David Machen and family, Denise Laffey and family, Dan Machen and family, Doug Machen and family, and numerous cousins. He is also survived by numerous golf buddies, hunting buddies, bowling friends, high school “Rebel True” friends and many more friends in addition to his Emmaus family.
Family and friends will gather at Cypress Creek Church, 211 Stillwater in Wimberley for a visitation starting at 9:30 a.m., on Monday, September 12, 2016, with a Funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Cuero, Texas. Interment Services were held at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero.
