Edmund Michalek, 78, of Yorktown, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013. He was born in Runge on Dec. 11, 1934 to Rudolph Michalek and Minnie Waltersdorf. He married his beloved, Shirley Giesalhart on May 15, 1980.
He is survived by his daughter; Vernadette Michalek of San Antonio, sons; Edmund Michalek of San Antonio, and Rudy Michalek, of Cuero, brothers, Edwin Lee Michalek of Cuero, August Michalek of San Antonio, and Leon Michalek, of Giddings, and Frank Michalek of Port O'Connor, sisters; Bernice Hargrove of Cuero, Doris Buesing of Nordheim, and Helen Serece of Cuero.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Rudolph and Minnie Michalek.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 12 from 6-8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Yorktown. Interment will follow at Nordheim Cemetery.
