
Stanley F. Warzecha passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016 at the age of 80. He was born Jan. 29, 1936 in Yorktown to the late Theodore and Mary (Dworaczyk) Warzecha. Stanley had a fulfilled life. He served his country in the United States Army for three years. He worked for 48 years as a welder for the Southern Pacific and Union Pacific Railroads, where he won multiple awards for injury free service and job completion. He loved his family and was a hard worker all his life. In earlier years he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and in later years taking care of his farm and cows.
He is survived by daughter, Sherry Tharp (Richard) of Gonzales; stepdaughter, Carolee Perez of Victoria; grandchildren, Richard Tharp, Jr. and Johnathan Tharp, both of Gonzales, Katherine Gonzales, Anthony Gonzales, Samantha Gonzales, and Hunter Brown, all of Victoria; great-grandchildren, Zoey Barrera and Charlotte Gonzales, both of Victoria; and many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by former spouse/longtime companion, Carol Brown; parents; brother, Virgil Warzecha; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Visitation was Friday, Nov. 25 from 3-5 p.m., with a rosary beginning at 4:30 p.m., at Freund Funeral Home, 213 N. Gonzales St, Cuero. Mass was Saturday, Nov. 26, 2 p.m., at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 11220 FM 237, Westhoff. Interment followed at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lester Warzecha, Johnathan Tharp, Richard Tharp, Jr., Darrell Swoboda, Anthony Gonzales, and Dustin Bray.
