Benita Stock Junker

Benita Stock Junker, 87, of Cuero went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 21, 2014. She was born on May 27, 1927 in Shiner to the late Arnold F. Stock and Emma Flessner Stock. Benita worked at Cudahy in Cuero, The Yoakum tannery, Five and Dime store in Cuero, and the GISD cafeteria. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Yorktown. Benita married Alton Junker on December 31, 1946 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Cuero. They enjoyed dancing, playing dominoes, country music, praying, and going to church together.
 
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Alton L. Junker; son, Roger Junker, and wife, Barbara Sue; sisters, Sharon Pargman, Gloria Harryman, and Dorothy Worsham; brother, Arnold Stock; and grandchildren, Sr. Gianna Junker, O.P. and Brandon G. Junker, and wife, Margaret.
 
She is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Edna Marie Stock.
 
Visitation will be held Monday, November 24, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home.  
 
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2 p.m., at Freund Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Muehlbred officiating. Interment will follow. at Hillside Cemetery. There will be a reception at the Arneckeville Community Center following interment.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Yorktown or the charity of one’s choosing.

Irene L. Veit

Irene L. Veit, 89, of Westhoff passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014. She was born on September 19, 1925, in Westhoff to the late Louise Baros and Edward Joseph Lukas. Irene graduated from Draughons Business School and worked at Home State Bank in Westhoff for many years. Upon leaving the bank, she moved to the Sample Community to stay home and raise her children. She was a mother first (raising five kids) but was very active in the daily operation of a commercial chicken farm and ranching for many years.
 
Irene loved to garden and had a green thumb to make almost anything grow, she was a great cook and had the best fried chicken around, she would sew and stitch while the "men" watched the Cowboys until she learned the game and became an avid fan herself. She enjoyed a cold beer at 5:00 with her husband and when she wasn't cooking she enjoyed pizza, DQ Tacos, and lemon cake. Vacations were few but she loved her trips to Colorado and she and Arthur could travel more miles in a day than anyone, and see everything. Irene also loved a new shiny car or a good used Cadillac. Most of all, she enjoyed her family, the simple things of country life and being a great mother and so much more without asking for anything in return.
 
She is survived by her four loving children, Melanie Driffill (Fred) of Floresville, Vonnie Jackson (Jeff) of Bandera, Mark Veit (Sammie) of Cuero, and Matt Veit of San Marcos; grandchildren, Chelsea and Garrett Veit, Katy and Jill Veit, and Lukas Jackson, Greg Driffill (Amanda) and family of Cibolo, Stephen Driffill (Jeanette) and family of San Antonio, and Emily Jackson of Williamsburg, VA; niece, Beverly Culbertson of Lexington, KY; nephews, Gerald (Buddy) Deats of Dallas and James Deats of Ruidoso, NM; and many other relatives and friends.
 
She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 50 years, Arthur Veit, Sr.;  son, Arthur Veit, Jr.; and sisters, Ellen Deats and Addie Belle (Mitzie) Raney.
 
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at the Freund Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at St. John Lutheran Church of Westhoff with Pastor William Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Westhoff Cemetery.
 
Pallbearers are Fred Driffill, Jeff Jackson, Buddy Deats, David Baros, Kent Hilbrich, Gregg Bunjes, and Donny Janicek. Honorary pallbearers are Angie Hilbrich, Ed Baros, and Leona Caskey.
 
The family wishes to thank the staff of Cuero Community Hospital, Whispering Oaks Manor, Hospice of South Texas, Mrs. Alma Wesley, and Dr. Jennifer Gonzales for their care and comfort.
 
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to St. John Lutheran Church of Westhoff, or Hospice of South Texas.

Mary Gonzales Fox

Mary Gonzales Fox, 80, of Cuero passed away Monday, November 24, 2014. She was born on September 23, 1934 in Cuero to the late Manuel C. Gonzales and Maria Cantu Gonzales. She married Marvin E. Fox on November 26, 1956 in Cuero. Mary was in the family restaurant business for 58 years, and for 30 of those years as the owner of The Longhorn Ranch Restaurant in Cuero. Her pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was known best for her unselfish acts of kindness. Her all time favorite holiday was Christmas where she lived for shopping, giving gifts, and spending time with her family. Everyone who knew her, loved her. Her greatest joy came “when children gather round their tree” (Tudor Jenks).
 
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years; daughters, Shirley Saenz (Ricky) of Cuero, Tina Orosco (Ray) of Cuero, and Stacey Ressman (Stephen) of Cuero; sister, Hortencia Moya of Schertz; brothers, Joe C. Gonzales (Ellie) of Cuero and Richard Gonzales (Mackie) of Cuero; grandchildren, Karl Saenz (Jill), Jenni Pinson (Richard), Brandon Orosco (Candace), and Trent Orosco (Jennifer); and great-grandchildren, Kerstyn, Kylie, Kloey Saenz, Lincoln Orosco, Lainee Ballin, Bainen and Bodie Orosco, and Alexa Pinson.
 
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Virginia Gonzales, Theresa Garcia, Minnie Henson, and Ophelia Coggins; brothers, Pete C. Gonzales and Manuel C. Gonzales; and granddaughter, Kristi Saenz.
 
Visitation will be held Friday, November 28, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home with the Rosary at 5:30 p.m.  Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 29, 11 a.m., at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father David Berger officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. 
 
Pallbearers include Karl Saenz, Brandon Orosco, Trent Orosco, Arthur Ray Gonzales, Richard Pinson, and Mike Sarlls. Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Saenz, Ray Orosco, Stephen Ressman, and Ernie Berger.

Joe G. Sanchez

Joe G. Sanchez passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014 after a long illness. Joe was born on March 24, 1932 in Lockhart. In 1949, his family moved to San Marcos. In 1950, he married Mary Vasquez in Gonzales. He worked for Coca Cola in New Braunfels and then at Hale Specialties in Shiner until 1965 when he was hired as a machinist at Tex Tan Welhausen in Yoakum. In 1967, he moved permanently to Cuero. He was eventually promoted to the foreman and assistant superintendent positions until 1973 when he was named superintendent of the Tex Tan factory in Cuero. In 1976, Joe was transferred back to Yoakum to head the expanded leather goods factory. He made the daily commute on his Suzuki 650 a great deal of the time and retired from Tex Tan when the factory closed in Yoakum. Joe remarried Guadalupe Aguillar in 1983 in Cuero. 
 
Joe was an avid golfer until the onset of his illness. He also was a long time fan of the Gobblers and never missed a game, rain or shine, home or away, during the 70s and 80s.
 
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Lupe Sanchez, and her children, Laurie Corona, Rudy Osegueda, Michael Osegueda and Vicki Rodriquez and his brother, Raul Sanchez (Tillie). Joe is also survived by daughters, Maria Ybarra (Jim), Carmen Trojanowski (Alan); sons, Michael G. Sanchez (Mary Beth), James L. Sanchez (Natasha) and Mark A. Sanchez; and grandchildren, David, Adam, AJ, Jamie and Megan.
 
Joe is preceded in death by his son, Joseph R. Sanchez; parents, Simon and Juanita Sanchez; sister, Rosa Perez; and brothers, Baltazar Sanchez and Herbert Sanchez.
 
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 6 pm at Freund Funeral Home in Cuero. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, December 4, 2014, 10 a.m., at St. Michaels Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Cuero.

Tony T. Martinez

Tony T. Martinez, 47, of Cuero passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014. He was born October 4, 1967 in Lamesa to Josephine O. Torres and Sam A. Martinez, Jr. He was a graduate of Cuero High School. He enjoyed watching football and cheering on his favorite team, the Texas Longhorns. He also loved Harley Davidson.
 
He is survived by his mother, Josephine Martinez of Cuero.
 
He was preceded in death by his father, Sam A. Martinez, Jr.
 
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 6 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Funeral mass will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2014, 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father David Berger officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Ray Allen Voelkel

Ray Allen Voelkel, of Houston, Texas died peacefully surrounded by his family on November 16, 2014. He is survived by his partner Ann Jackson of Houston, Texas; daughters; Debra Voelkel Benge and spouse Michael of Cherry Hills Village, Colorado; Dinah Voelkel of Dallas, Texas; mother of his children, Margaret Thomas of Cuero, Texas; sister, Shirley Sprigg of Cuero, Texas; grandchildren, Candice, Kathleen, Rachel and Avery Benge and nephew John Sprigg.
 
Ray was born in Cuero, Texas on December 16, 1932 to the late Ray and Gladys Voelkel. He spent many summers playing trombone with his father in the Cuero Municipal Band in the park during the 1940s. He graduated from Cuero High School where he was elected Drum Major and played trombone in the All State Band. Ray was in the Texas National Guard for two years with Company M. He attended North Texas State College and University of Texas majoring in Music and completed his degree at the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. He worked for many years as a Metallurgist for W-K-M and Cooper Industries. Ray played drums in a Dixieland jazz band for many years with the Dick Shannon Band and the Johnny Dyson Band.
 
Ray and Ann were avid travelers and they enjoyed cruising with friends and traveled many miles by car. One of their favorites trips was a fall foliage tour through Canada and down the east coast. They spent their summers in Hilton Head, South Carolina and in Beaver Creek, Colorado. Ray enjoyed skiing, fishing in Copano Bay in Rockport, Texas, listening to and playing music and spending time with his family. Ray was a kind and loving man and his family and friends were blessed to have such a man to call companion, father and granddad. Ray will be greatly missed but he leaves behind a lasting legacy. 
 
A Memorial Service in Ray’s honor will be held on December 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Cuero, Texas. There will be a reception immediately following the service at the church. 
 
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church.

Sandra Kay Mollenkopf Ricks

Sandra Kay Mollenkopf Ricks, 62 passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 in San Antonio. She was born on November 21, 1952 in Cuero to Marion Schlinke Mollenkopf and the late Eugene Mollenkopf. 
 
Sandra worked at South Texas Savings for 23 years and then devoted another 18 years to her current employer and long-time friend, Nancy Garner at Woolson Real Estate. In her spare time Sandra enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She was married to David Ricks for 43 years until his passing in 2014.
 
Survivors include daughter, Courtney Ricks of Victoria; sister, Linda (Barry) Dittfurth of Yorktown; brother, Albert Mollenkopf of Cuero; granddaughter, Alexandrea Soliz of Austin; and niece, Misty Mollenkopf of Cuero.
 
Family will receive friends on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 10 am to 1 pm at Grace Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 1 PM at Grace Funeral Home on December 5, 2014. Immediately following the service, a reception will be held at The Reserve Apartments Clubhouse, 8602 NE Zac Lentz Parkway.
 
Burial will be at a later date.

Alex Mainka

Alex Mainka, 82, of Cuero passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2014. He was born July 7, 1932 in Yorktown to the late Rosie Guzy and Theodor Mainka. He married Elizabeth Eicher on November 22, 1955 at Queen of Peace Church in Sweethome. Alex was a driller in the oil field for many years and took great pride in his ranching.
 
He is survived by his daughters, Dorothy Bilbrey (Doyle), Karen Palmer (Rex), and Lois Lemke (Brad); son, Harvey Mainka (Mona); sister, Elizabeth Friedrichs; brother, Paul Mainka; grandchildren, Brandon and Dustin Mainka, Dawni Tollett, Derek Bilbrey, Devon Mullen, Larissa Whitehead, and Morgan and Kyle Lemke; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodor and Rosie Mainka; sisters, Helen Adickes and Agnes Kulik; and brothers, Joe Mainka, Frank Mainka, Benny Mainka, Edward Mainka, Anton Mainka, and Julian Mainka.
 
Visitation will be held Friday, December 5, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home with a rosary beginning at 6 p.m. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, December 6, 2014, 10 a.m., at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father David Berger officiating. Lamar Henry Koehler

Lamar Henry Koehler, 83, of Corpus Christi passed away November 23, 2014. He was born April 16, 1931, in Runge, Texas to the late Henry W. and Emma Buendel Koehler. Lamar is survived by his wife, Athalee Jacob Koehler; son, Randell L. Koehler (Linda); daughters, Vickie Reilly and Kim Owens; grandchildren, Amanda (Wade) Beutnagel, Sarah (Carl) Brandes, Shaun Reilly and Megan Parma; great-grandchildren, Hunner and Zaynee Parma; brother, Kermit (Doris) Koehler.
 
He was preceded in death by his  parents, granddaughter, Kristin Reilly, and great-grandson, Bowen Beutnagel. Lamar graduated from Nordheim High School in 1948. He proudly served his country in the Army from1954-1956. In 1956 Lamar met the love of his life, Athalee Jacob. They were married in a double wedding on September 1, 1957, in Yorktown, Texas. Lamar worked 28 years for Western Electric as an installer until his retirement in 1987. After retirement Lamar enjoyed spending time at his ranch in Runge, Texas, feeding his cattle, drinking coffee with his buddies and spending time with his grandchildren. Lamar never met a stranger and after talking to someone for mere minutes, he could often trace them back as a distant relative.
 
Visitation was held at Cage-Mills Funeral Home on November 25, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service as also held at Cage-Mills Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. on November 26, 2014. Pastor Mark Behrendt officiated.
 
Burial followed at Nordheim Cemetery in Nordheim, Texas.
 
Pallbearers were Shaun Reilly, Darren Koehler, terry Koehler, Jeff Koehler, Benjamin (Benny) Mumme and Carl Brandes. Memorials should be made to donor’s choice.

Sharon Anne Weise, age 71, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014. 
 
She was born December 1, 1943 in Houston to Frank Newman and Juanita Gregg Newman. 
 
Survivors are her daughter, Wendy Barefield (Jake) of Victoria; sons, Wade Weise of San Antonio and Ben Weise (Phoebe) of Seguin; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Linda Ruschhaupt of Victoria and Susan Kaiser (Keith) of Sammamish, WA; brother, Chad McGrew (Rene) of Bethel, Maine. 
 
Preceded in death by parents and step-father, Cecil McGrew. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home. Funeral Service 1 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. Adam Jaquez officiating.
 
Burial at Westside Cemetery in Yorktown.

Anna Richter Meischen, 95, of Yorktown died Dec. 11, 2014. She was born March 20, 1919 in Shiner, Texas to the late Alois and Pauline Lassig Richter. 
 
She is survived by her sons Robert T. (Marilyn) and James (Yvonne) Meischen and daughter Mary (Jerry) Steves, sister Edna Heil. She is also survived by six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
 
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert H. Meischen, brother Joe Richter and an infant brother.
 
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday Dec. 12, 2014 at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday Dec. 13, 2014 at Massey Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Westside Cemetery.

Bobby J. Rickman, 43, of Victoria passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014. He was born November 24, 1971 in Paris, Illinois to Kitti I. Rickman and the late Arthur J. Rickman. He worked in maintenance, loved hunting and fishing, and took great pride in always putting his family first.
 
He is survived by his mother, Kitti Rickman; stepfather, Sonny Hebert; fiancé, Kendra Hillard of Victoria; daughter, Brianna Nichole Rickman of Victoria; sons, Keith James Rickman of Terre Haute, Indiana, Shane Matthew Rickman of Victoria, and Dylan Reffett of Victoria; sisters, Patricia Michelle Neibarger and Penny Irene Heldemann and husband, Brian, all of Paris, Illinois; granddaughter, Gracie Hillard of Spokane, Washington; four nieces and two nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Shane Shelton Cash.

Maurine Ottine Flessner, 95, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014. She was born April 19, 1919 in Nordheim to the late Otto and Mary Kneifel Schroller. She married Edwin Flessner on January 9, 1938 in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Yorktown. 
 
She is survived by son, Douglas Flessner (Caraleen) of Cuero; daughter-in-law, Barbara Flessner; grandchildren, Kyle Flessner (Kelly) of Lucas, Jeremy Flessner (Jenny) of Katy, Kristin Landry (Michael) of Houston, Rodney Flessner (Stephanie) of Cuero, and Randall Flessner (Melissa) of Cuero; and great-grandchildren, Jackson Landry of Houston, Avery and Erin Flessner of Lucas, Evan, Clara, and Camden Flessner of Katy, Chad, Cody, Gavin, and Korbin Flessner of Cuero, and Desirae and Alexis Flessner of Cuero.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and son, Harlan Flessner.

Howard Eugene “Gene” Cornelius was born May 30, 1921 in Clarendon, Texas to Roy and Thelma (Clayton) Cornelius and raised in the Texas Panhandle, graduating from Lubbock High School in 1940.
 
Gene voluntarily enlisted as a Private in the U. S. Army Air Corps two weeks after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, reporting for duty December 31, 1941. He attained the rank of T/Sgt. He served as a Flight Engineer on a Troop Carrier (paratrooper) in the 53rd Troop Carrier Squadron with the 82nd Airborn Division, serving first in North Africa, where they jumped troops in the invasions of Sicily and Italy, then in Great Britain. He served in the combined All-Airborn division of U.S. and British Airborn and was involved in drops of both U.S. and British troops in the invasions France and Holland, about which Cornelius Ryan wrote the book “A Bridge too Far.” Gene returned home to the States to rejoin his family in January 1945. Gene married Dora Oleta “Leta” Marshall on July 14, 1942. To this loving union were born four children: Bobby Eugene (Bob), Martha Ann, Jerry Mac, and Mary Katherine (Kathy). 
 
After his discharge from the Army Gene entered Texas Tech University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Husbandry in 1953. He worked in the field of agriculture through various Feed and Seed companies throughout his career retiring in 1985. From 1958 to 1960 Gene co-owned and operated a chicken farm in Hamilton, which became the family’s “adopted hometown.” He and Leta retired there in 1985 where, within the span of a few months, Leta was diagnosed and died after a brief battle with cancer.
 
Gene married JoAnn Baker in 1987 and moved to the small Texas community of Yorktown where he lived until his passing on December 14, 2014, at the age of 93 years.
 
Gene was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors and his happiest days were spent camping and enjoying this great Country.
 
Gene was preceded in death by his brother, Billie Cornelius, his parents, Roy and Thelma Cornelius, wife Leta Marshall Cornelius, son-in-law Dwight Landua, brother-in-law Bill Whitworth, grandsons-in-law Damon Battle and Matthew Knapp, great-grandchildren Brittany Battle and Brody Knapp and step-son-in-law John Gladder. 
 
Mr. Cornelius is survived by his wife, JoAnn Cornelius of Yorktown, Texas; children Bob Cornelius and wife Shellie of Kemp, Texas; Martha Landua of Durant, Oklahoma; Jerry Cornelius and wife Joan of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Kathy Payne and husband Rick of Hamilton, Texas. “Gran’dad” is survived by 16 grandchildren –29 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Mary Whitworth of Austin, Texas; and Georgia Musil and husband Joe of Lubbock, Texas, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
 
 Surviving “Mr. C” in JoAnn’s family — daughters Carla Baker and husband Aaron O’Neal of Houston, Texas, Ginger Baker and husband Tom Copeland of Dale, Texas, and Dusty Baker of Lockhardt, Texas; 2 grandchildren – Commander Gene Cran and wife Kimberly of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Dr. Karisha Madden and husband Rory of Houston, Texas; and 3 great-grandchildren.
 
Services for H. E. (Gene) Cornelius will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Hamilton’s First Presbyterian Church beginning at 10:30 AM. Presiding will be grandson-in-law, Pastor Ryan Jones. A military graveside service will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers are Tye Adams, Gene Cran, Austin Faux, Jeremy Lack, Robert Turner, and Dave Wilson.
 
A memorial service will be planned in Yorktown at a later date.

Charles Emery Kilpatrick

Charles Emery Kilpatrick, 94, of Corpus Christi, formerly of Cuero, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014. He was born September 30, 1920 in Hillsboro to the late William Lee and Mary Elizabeth Mathis Kilpatrick. He married the late Cristobell Dixon on April 5, 1942. Charles was a retired Army officer, serving in both World War II and the Korean War. He loved to read, play golf, and spend time with his family. He was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and spent three years at Cimarron Place where he made many friends and received excellent care from the entire Cimarron Place staff, as well as Altus Hospice.
 
He is survived by his daughters, Nancy J. Sparks (William) of Corpus Christi and Mary E. Lesefka (Bob) of Smithville; son, William Kilpatrick of Victoria; grandchildren, Robert Lesefka Jr. (Jessica), Lisa Longwell (Danny), Richard Sparks II (Kayla), Kristen M. Gilham (Chris), William K. Kilpatrick (Amy), and Amy Kilpatrick; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Longwell, Heloise Kilpatrick, Wilhelmina Kilpatrick, and Simon Kilpatrick.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Cristobell Kilpatrick; son, Charles E. Kilpatrick Jr.; son-in-law, Richard D. Sparks; granddaughter, Katy Sparks; nine brothers; and three sisters.
 
Services will be held Monday, December 22, 2014, 2 p.m., at Hillside Cemetery with interment to follow. Dr. Glenn Robertson will officiate.

Carrie Drapalla

Carrie Drapalla, 99, of Cuero passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014. She was born September 18, 1915 to the late Lucy Dlugosch and Steve Drapalla. 
 
She is survived by her nephew, John Danysh of Victoria.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Alvina Danysh; brothers, Frank Drapalla and Stanley Drapalla; nephews, Alex and Gregory Danysh; and niece, Constance Danysh.
 
A rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Freund Funeral Home with a service to follow at 10 a.m. Father David Berger will officiate. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery. 
 
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael’s Catholic Church or St. Michael’s Building Fund.

Leroy Louis Liendo Sr.

Leroy Louis Liendo Sr. died on Friday December 19, 2014 at the age of 66 years old. Leroy was born July 11, 1948 in Cuero, Tx to the late Myrtle Liendo. Leroy was a member at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Cuero and also a member of the Guadalupanos.
 
Leroy retired from Coca Cola after 28 years as a truck driver. After his retirement he went to work for CISD in the maintenance department until his health started to fail in 2012. He also served as a member on the Roy Benavidez Foundation.
 
Leroy leaves to cherish his memory his sons Leroy Liendo Jr, Jesse Liendo, Edward Warren and step son Jeremy Galindo. Also his daughters Jennifer Liendo, Candice Liendo, and step daughter Stephanie Franklin. Leroy has 11 grandchildren surviving him. 
 
A visitation will be held on Friday December 26, 2014 from 6-8pm with a rosary at 7pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday December 27, 2014 at 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father David Berger officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery.
 
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Galindo, Michael Ruiz Sr., John Ray Zapata, Kenneth Garza, Troy Zamora, and Kerry Franklin Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are Chris Rodriquez, Ashley Liendo and Crista Rodriguez.
 
Donations can be made to help defray funeral expense.
