Clyde Weldon Wells, 79 of Nordheim, peacefully passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 in his home surrounded by his loving devoted children that cared for him the most. He was born July 7, 1936, to  (Flora) Estelle Meador and (Joseph) Jake Wells.

Weldon served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Shangri-la from Oct. 11, 1955, to Oct. 3, 1959. He was honorably discharged as a boilerman technician, Petty Officer 3rd Class (BT3).

After his time in the U.S. Navy, Weldon started working in the oilfield as a roughneck. With hard work and motivation he worked his way up to superintendent of an oil rig for Western Oceanic, off the coast of Africa, and then retiring after 35 years.

Weldon was a Master Mason of the Cameron Masonic Lodge No. 76 of Yorktown. His enjoyments in life were his family, friends, fishing hunting, football and just life itself.

Weldon leaves behind a brother, Tommy Meador; daughters, Sonya Wells, Debbie Mahboub, Chris Wells and Cindy Lewis; son, Michael Kirby; sons-in-law, Ronnie Ellison and Joe Mahboub; daughters-in-law, Dana Massey and Francine Kirby; grandchildren, Misty Wells, Tiffany Aguilar, Kristie Kolodziejcyk and Kurtis Kolodziejcyk; as well as 16 other grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Estelle and Claude Meador, and his father, Jake and Mabel Wells.

It was an honor for us children, Sonya, Debbie, Chris, Cindy and Michael, to honor our father’s last wishes and request on allowing him to be at home to watch him take his last breath with the ones that truly loved him and stuck beside him during his terminal months. Dad, you will be forever in our hearts. We know you will forever be watching over us. You will be forever in our hearts until we meet again. Dad, to the world you were but one person, but to us kids, you are the world.

He walked as a man among men;
He is the wind beneath our wings;
He is our hero, our dad.
