Rinehold R. Borchardt, 90, of Cuero passed away on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014.
He was born on April 17, 1923 in Westhoff to Frank G. Borchardt and Elizabeth Afflerbach. He married the love of his life, Lee Alice Arndt Wolter, on Dec. 19, 1970 in Westhoff. Rinehold enjoyed ranching and farming for most of his life. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Lindenau. He was also a member of Sons of Hermann, former president and agent of Hochheim Prairie Insurance in Westhoff - Branch 20, and former volunteer in the auxiliary Fire Department.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Elizabeth Borchardt; wife Lee Alice Borchardt; brothers Bert Borchardt and Alvin Borchardt; sisters Annie Borchardt, Emma Borchardt, Meta Borchardt, Lena Lincke, and Frieda Borchardt.
He will be lying in state at Freund Funeral Home from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25. A graveside service will be held at Lindenau Community Cemetery at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26 with the Rev. William Hill officiating.
