Horace Ray Parks Jr.

Horace Ray Parks, Jr., 73, of Cuero passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014. 
 
He was born October 4, 1940 in Cuero to the late Horace Ray Parks, Sr., and Rosalie Vick Parks. In 1959 he won the National Football Championship with Texas A&I. Ray married his beloved, Kathleen Ckodre, on May 28, 1966, in Runge at St. Anthony’s Parish. Ray worked at M-G Feed for 36 years as a nutritionist and sales representative.
 
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Pam Owens (Alan) of The Woodlands; sons, Brian Parks (Marisa) of Dripping Springs and Craig Parks (Kristen) of Houston; grandchildren, Lauren Watson, Andrew Watson, Tyler Watson, Emma Parks, Connor Parks, Kate Parks, Colton Parks, Emily Parks; and step-grandchildren, Riley Maher and Maddox Maher.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents.
 
Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 29, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. with the Rosary at 7 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father David Berger officiating. Interment will follow at Hochheim Cemetery. 
 
Pallbearers include Andrew Watson, Tyler Watson, Connor Parks, Brett Ckodre, Donnie Kasper, Gary Ckodre and Bobby Ckodre. Honorary pallbearers are Colton Parks, Riley Maher, Maddox Maher, Lauren Watson, Emma Parks and Kate Parks.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael’s Guardian Angel Fund and St. Michael’s Building Fund.
