
Milam von Roeder, 80, of Yorktown and Goliad, died Monday Oct. 27, 2014 in Goliad He was born Oct. 16, 1934 in Yorktown, Texas to the late J.J. and Elmine Pecanka von Roeder. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He served in the US Army and retired from CPL after 40 years of service, after retirement he enjoyed ranching in DeWitt County. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Milam is survived by his daughter Lisa von Roeder Burris of Victoria, son Guy von Roeder of Yorktown, grandchildren Tres and Bailee Burris of Victoria and brother Bobby (Billie) von Roeder of Yorktown. He is also survived by his longtime and loving companion Adeline Haak of Goliad and daughters Sandy Haak and Lori (Tim) Von Dohlen and grandchildren Morgan and Trey Von Dohlen of Lochart and a host of many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Doris Koopmann von Roeder.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Thursday Oct. 30, 2014 at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:30 am Friday Oct. 31, 2014 at Massey Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Westside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Russell von Roeder, Aaron Koopmann, Don Roeder, Tim Von Dohlen, Harold J. Friedrichs, Jim Worley, Tres Burris and Trey Von Dohlen.
