VICTORIA – Maria R. Davis, age 90, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015. She was born on January 12, 1925 to the late Jose Rios and Maria Ybarra Rios in Beeville, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband; Carl Fredric “Fred” Davis, parents, daughter; Helen Martinez, son; Jose Carlos Martinez, sister; Lela Saenz.
She is survived by her daughter; Mary Helen (Pedro) Corona of Corpus Christi, son; Adan “Donnie” (Michele) Martinez of Victoria, sisters; Estella J. (Benito) Martinez, and Margarita (Valentin) Campos of Beeville, brothers; Baldemar (Alicia) Saldiva of San Antonio, Pete (Beatrice) Saldiva of George West, and Inez (Cecelia) Salinas of Tucson, Ariz., four grandchildren and seven great‐grandchildren. Maria R. “Susie” Davis is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 5-9 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. at Artero Memorial Chapels in Victoria. Visitation will resume on Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with Father Jasper Liggio to officiate. Burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Pedro Corona, Joe Anthony Cisneros, Leandro Cisneros, Danny O. BooBoo Higgenbottom Jr., Tony Saldiva, Carlos Saldiva, Leroy Saldiva, and Daniel Campos.
